Pastor Sheldon is a lifetime resident of central Iowa and a commissioned minister with standing in the Disciples of Christ(Christian Church) denomination. He grew up on a farm just west of Des Moines and attended Van Metter Community Schools, DMACC, and Lincoln Tech trade school. Being a minister is his second career after spending over 20 years in different transportation-related businesses that he has either worked for or owned. He lives in the Beaverdale area of Des Moines with his wife Kim and they have two adult children. Sheldon loves music, anything that is mechanical, and has a private pilot’s license and flies whenever possible. He has served four different congregations and is currently serving First Christian Church in Newton IA and River Valley Disciples new church start in the Beaverdale and Drake neighborhoods in the Des Moines area.
